The Audio Technica Ath M50X is highly recommended from me and my team. I have a pair of these in my home recording studio right at this moment.
The M50 ‘s never change they do get upgraded but that sound quality is always top notch.
The M50x are very flexible and can take a beating without any damage.
This is what sets them apart from any headphones out on the market today. In addition, the sound quality is tremendous and are very affordable at a price of $169.

Shure SRH840
I wanted to add another great headphone that was not that pricey and that’s why I chose the Shure SRH840.
The Shure company have been delivering great products throughout the years and the SRH840 fits that mold perfectly.
The Shure SRH840 goes for the price of $199
These are a good choice but are not my top choice.
They provide good quality and comfort but don’t have the same depths of sound as the other models that we talked about.
They’re great for those music producers who are just starting out on a limited budget and want something other than the Audio Technica M50’s

Fostex T50RP
The Fostex headphones for studio recording have that old school flavor to them. They’re not as comfortable as the other headphones but the tone and bass of the headphone is spectacular.
They work very well for mixing but are uncomfortable for them long night sessions.
The price for the Fostex T50Rp is very affordable at only $120 bucks.
These headphones are huge and that might explain why they’re so uncomfortable. They will take a bit of getting use to but if you can’t afford a $300 headphone this is a great option to look at before purchasing.
